About

In times of financial and emotional adversity, communities come together to help and provide relief against misfortune, pain and despair. Charitable action and philanthropy signify the generosity of spirit practiced worldwide. Philanthropy, as an act of compassion, has been part of the Greek and American way of life and it is the great shared task of improving our collective lives.  Philanthropy is a Greek word, Φιλανθρωπια, which means the love of humankind.

The Cyprus Children's Fund, Inc. (CCF), is a 501(C)(3) tax exempt, non-profit organization, established in 1975 following the devastating Turkish invasion and occupation of Cyprus, to alleviate the plight of hundreds of displaced children. Emergency aid was needed to help restore the dignity and hope to traumatized and struggling refugee families.

Today, the organization has evolved into one that continuously strives to provide help not only to generationally-affected refugees and enclaved children, but also to children that come from families struggling with economic and medical challenges. With its Sponsorship and Scholarship programs, CCF invests in meeting the needs of children and youth, empowering parents, strengthening the family unit and the future of Cyprus.
