In addition to our charitable work with underprivileged Cypriot youth, we also take continued education very seriously. The CCF awards annual sponsorships to students who study and/or will be studying during the application year (consecutive September), full time in American Universities and cannot afford tuition on their own.
Applications are accepted January 1st through April 30th each year.
Students are notified -if awarded- by the end of July of each year.

Available Scholarships:

The Makarios Scholarship/Theodore and Wally Lappas Award
The Makarios Scholarship/Theodore and Wally Lappas Award was established in 1983 and financed by the Theodore Lappas family. The late Theodore Lappas was born in Limassol, Cyprus, one of eight children. In 1920, at the age of 17 he emigrated to the United States in search of better employment prospects. In 1934 he married Wally Kammerbauer, a native of Bavaria.

Makarios Scholarship/Thomas And Elaine Kyrus Endowment
In 1984 the Kyrus family established the Thomas and Elaine Kyrus Endowment. Thomas C. Kyrus who has served as National Chairman and President of the Cyprus Children’s Fund from 1980 through 2000 was born in the occupied town of Morphou and is a successful businessman. He is also the Honorary Consul General of Cyprus in Virginia Beach, Virginia and has been long associated with the causes of Cyprus. This annual scholarship award is presented to a student from the area, or town of Morphou who is studying in an accredited United States institution
 
Makarios Scholarship / Peter G. and Bess Kolantis Decker endowments
Benefactors of this award are Peter G. and Bess Kolantis Decker, residents of Virginia. This yearly $1,000 award is presented to a student of Greek Cypriot origin who is attending an accredited United States institution on a full-time basis and demonstrates scholastic aptitude. Since 1996, the Decker family continues to support the Endowment with yearly contributions.
 
Cyprus Children’s Fund Scholarship Endowment
The Cyprus Children’s Fund Scholarship Endowment was established in November of 1993 as a result of a recognized need to provide financial aid to needy students of high academic standard who are pursuing higher education in accredited College or University. This effort was initially undertaken through the good services of foster parents who are participants to the sponsorship program of the Cyprus Children’s Fund - a program which was established in 1974 with directive to aid the needy refugee children and their families.
 
Stanley Dru Award
A yearly award to be presented to a full-time student in an accredited United States Institution., Applicants must be of Greek Cypriot origin with residence on the island of Cyprus.


Dennis Droushiotis Scholarship (new)
Funded by the Cyprus-U.S Chamber of Commerce.
This is an annual scholarship of $2500 in Memory of Dennis Droushiotis, former Trade Commissioner in the United States for the Republic of Cyprus and
member of the Board of the Cyprus Children's Fund.
Eligible candidates must:
a) be full-time students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an
accredited US college/university in a business related field (business, accounting, management, etc.).
b) have a GPA of 3.0 or better
c) have demonstrated leadership and community involvement
d) be of Cypriot descent
