These are the children in need of love…They are the orphans and those abandoned- those who face difficult days ahead, with restless nights to follow;   they know of  relationships that have not endured, they share the agony and pain.  Most likely, they will bear  permanent scars.

 Theodoros  Alexandrou was born on October 10, 1985,  one of 2 children in single-parent refugee family whose father has abandoned them and has no interest in them. They have no property and continue to live in government housing under modest conditions.  Theodoros has a year more to graduate from high school.

Maria Kiriakou was born on November 10, 1990, one of three children in a single parent refugee family without property.  Her father passed away recently. Her mother earns a modest income as a cleaner. Maria’s older two siblings are mentally disabled and not gainfully employed. 

George Christophides was born on November 29, 1992 one of three children in a single parent family.   His father abandoned him for a Romanian  girlfriend.  He also left enormous debts.

Androula A. Elia born on May 29, 1991, one of three children in an enclaved family continuing to live in the occupied village of Rizokarpaso.  Father is farmer.

Aristos Ioannou was born out of wedlock on September 16, 1996. His mother’s first husband lost his battle with mental illness and took his own life leaving behind a young boy.  Aristos is developmentally slow and has psychokinetic disabilities, often hospitalized.

Christos Timotheou was born on December 1, 1996 single parent family without property living in a rented apartment. His father has shown no interest and does not pay child support. 

Kiriaki Georgiou was born on August 30, 1991, one of two children in a low-income family.  Her mother is fighting with cancer.  Her sister, Orthodoxia was born on June 1, 1993.

Hara Michaelidou was born on July 2, 1996 and her sister Andrea in September 6, 1999 two children in a single-parent refugee family.  Their young mother is now alone to raise them as her husband abandoned them and she battles serious lung disease. 

Aliki Loizou was born on March 26, 1991, one of three children in a refugee family without property.  She was barely 10 months old, when her father walked out on them to live with a Romanian woman with whom he fathered two children.  Their mother waged a fierce battle  with life trying to raise her children but in April 2002 she lost to cancer. Aliki is now a high school excelling in computers and English and lives with a foster mother. 

There are four siblings Christina (born on March 3 1993) Eleni (born on September 27, 1994) Christoforos (born on September 11, 1995) and Raphaella (born on March 5, 2001) in a refugee low-income family living in a two-bedroom Government housing.  All four children all share one bedroom. Raphaella battles bronchial disease and is often hospitalized. 

Stelios Vafeas was born on October 24, 1989, one of two children in a refugee family.  The child’s mother is doing her very best to raise Stelios and his brother with the assistance of relatives – life at home is less than bearable.  Their father suffers with schizophrenia and the children are traumatized.  Stelios and his brother Antonis are excellent students and share dreams of higher education.  

Anastasia Aloupou(born on August 6, 1990), Christina (born on September 29, 1993) and Raphael born on June 28, 1997)  three of seven children in low income family whose parents are unable to help them with homework.  The family is in need of money for the children’s  tutorial lessons.

Evie was born on September 1, 1991, one of three children in a refugee single parent family. Their father abandoned them and left huge debts behind.
